To become a licensed notary in the Canton of Bern, you have to pass a national exam.
Admitted to the exam are people who
- hold a law degree (Lizentiat or Master's degree) from a Swiss University or an equivalent degree from a country with which Switzerland agreed on mutual recognition and which holds a reciprocal right for the admission to the notary's exam,
- completed their practical training in the Canton of Bern,
- passed the pre-exam in "Finanzielles Rechnungswesen I - Grundlagen" (KSL-Nr. 3666) at the University of Bern
- have a certificate that confirms their legal capacity.
In order to take notarial training courses you have to be enrolled at the University of Bern: Admissions Office.
The lecture "Finanzielles Rechnungswesen I - Grundlagen" is offered by the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences (WISO).
